BRICOLAGE

BRICOLAGE is construction or creation from a diverse range of things. Inspired by Dadaism (Ready-Mades), Art Brut (Outsider Art) & Arte Povera (Poor Art), this practice draws on the arrangement of unified forms and themes relevant to found and salvaged objects. There is a sense of ecological awareness and economy of effort explored in the practice. As the old saying goes, where one might survey an unsightly pile of refuse, a Bricoleer may brim with the prospect of reclaiming an objects unseen potential.
